Forming an effective search committee is a good first step towards a successful manager search. Make sure each member of the committee will have sufficient time to be fully involved in the entire process. The members should be from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Some of the duties of a search committee include creating a schedule of the search process, writing a comprehensive position description, posting and advertising the job, identifying candidates for interviewing, thoroughly checking references and making recommendations to the board.
