A comprehensive position description will enable the search committee to determine which candidates should be selected for interviews. A job description or checklist of important qualifications and criteria can be used to compare with the managers' resumes. It should include duties, responsibilities, qualifications, experience required, necessary skills and education. A rating standard can be formed to allow the committee members to successfully screen the resumes. Warning flags should also be noted, such as job hopping, gaps in employment, missing dates and spelling and grammar errors. The job description can also serve as the basis for the interview questions.
