A South Florida board member recently reported that one of the managers they met with brought her husband to the job interview. The board member shared the concern that if the manager felt she needed to bring her spouse to the interview, she may not be qualified to manage the association on her own. Other interview behavior to avoid includes showing up late, slouching and fidgeting, chewing gum, lying, talking too much, saying negative things about a previous employer and use of a cell phone for calls or texting. Respectful, professional behavior during the interview process is imperative to achieve a successful job search.
