March 11, 2021 - Accounting Manager: $45,000-$50,000

Areas: Tampa

Accounting manager needed in Brandon, CAM license not required. Will work directly with the community association managers to support the financial operations of the communities. Will be responsible for a team of accounting professionals that perform the financial support for all of the management company's West Central Region client base.


* Proven working experience as an accounting manager or association accountant.

* Ability to manipulate large amounts of data for multiple clients.

* Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.

* High attention to detail and accuracy.

* Ability to direct and supervise.

* Advanced computer skills on Microsoft Office.

* Proficient in Microsoft Excel database spreadsheets, experience with community association management software TOPS, VMS, etc.

* BS degree in accounting or finance preferred.


* Maintain accounting controls by establishing charts of accounts, defining accounting policies and procedures.

* Maintain financial security by establishing internal controls.

* Ensure that clients are being billed timely and accurately, as well as oversee the collection of those payments.

* Avoid legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation, enforcing accounting regulations and recommending new procedures.

* Manage and supervise all functions related to association budgets, including coordination with community managers, boards of directors, and staff. Provide guidance, training, support and assistance with budget development.

* Prepare and or review community association accounts and investment schedules, reconciliations, journal entries and owner adjustments.

* Coordinate audits and tax returns with outside auditors and CPAs.

* Monitor and manage the monthly and yearly book close for associations with related financial report preparation for presentation to the association boards.

* Oversee the accounting onboarding of all new clients.

* Assist the general manager by accomplishing accounting human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling and disciplining employees. Communicate job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions. Plan and review compensation actions, enforce policies and procedures.

* Attend association board meetings.

* Process payroll and payroll tax returns.

* Meet with board treasurers regarding financials.

* Track association CD renewal dates and shop for competitive rates.
